  • Are children welcome to the property/dinner?
    The Harbor House Inn is a small, intimate restaurant and inn. The dining experience spans multiple hours. For these reasons and in consideration of our other guests, we do not admit children under the age of 15.
  • Is the Inn/Restaurant pet-friendly?
    We are not pet-friendly, but do welcome ADA-protected service animals. Please note, per ADA guidelines, Emotional Support Animals are not considered Service Animals, and therefore, are not allowed under our pet policy. We welcome you and your service animal to The Harbor House Inn. To ensure the peace and tranquility of all guests, we ask for your assistance with the following: Service animals must be leashed at all times while on property. In order for housekeeping to service your guest room, you must be present or the service animal must be removed from the room. Service animals are not to be left unattended while on the property or in the guest rooms. If your service animal is left unattended and barking or disturbance occurs, we may interrupt your Inn activities or services. If there is any damage to the room caused by your service animal, the cost of repairs will be charged to your account. You will also be responsible for any compensation given to other guests staying on the property due to a disturbance caused by your service animal and this will be charged to your account. The service animal owner hereby represents to The Harbor House Inn that their service animal is not inclined to bite, and that in the event that their service animal bites causing injury while on the Inn premises, the owners hereby agree to fully indemnify and hold harmless the Inn from any liability which the Inn may incur, including but not limited to, reasonable attorney fees, relating to such service animal bite.
  • Do you host buy-outs/private events?
    We can accommodate weddings and private events up to 60 guests. To inquire about availability for weddings, elopements, or private dinners, please contact events@theharborhouseinn.com
  • Is there a waitlist if I am unable to make a reservation?
    We have a waitlist for both guest rooms and restaurant reservations. You may add your name via Tock for dining reservations and by emailing us at reservations@theharborhouseinn.com for inn reservations.
  • I am staying at the Inn, do I need to make a dinner reservation?"
    Yes. We have an intimate dining room at Harbor House with limited seating. As such we give priority access to reservations for those that have booked rooms with us more than 30 days in advance. We release reservations to the general public on the first day of each month for the following month. If you book a room at the Inn within this window, please contact us directly as we do hold some tables for those booking rooms with us on a short term basis.
  • What is your corkage fee?
    We will happily open as many bottles of corkage for you during your dining experience. Corkage is $100 per 750ml bottle ($200 per 1500ml bottle) for the first two bottles. After the first two bottles, corkage will be $150 per 750ml bottle ($300 per 1500ml bottle)
  • What allergies or aversions can you accommodate?
    We are not able to accommodate celiac, vegan, wheat or soy allergy, or seaweed-averse menu requests. Any modifications received the day of may not be accommodated. Due to the abundance of seaweed in our menu, we are unable to accommodate guests with severe shellfish allergies. We also cannot prepare our menu without Bonito Flakes or Katsuobushi.
  • Are children welcome to dine?
    Due to the intimate size of our dining room, we cannot accommodate children under the age of 15 at dinner.
  • What is the dress code at the Harbor House Inn?
    We don’t have a specific dress code. We invite you to come as you are.
  • If I dine multiple nights, will I eat the same menu each time?"
    Due to our hyperlocal sourcing, the variety of seasonal products can at times be limited, if you are dining with us for a second night, the kitchen team will change the menu based on product availability. You can expect 3 different menu items.
  • Can I request a table by the window?
    Tables are auto-assigned based upon the order guests book. We kindly ask that you don't request a window seat when walking to your table as each table is pre-assigned, and we won't be able to accommodate it. Every table in our dining room does have an ocean view.
  • What are check-in and check-out times?
    Check-in begins at 3:00 PM and check-out ends at 11:00 AM.
  • Can I arrive late/check out late?
    Our core check-in hours are between 3-8 PM. If you will be arriving later than that, please let us know as early as possible so we may advise on an alternative check-in process. We may be able to honor a late checkout, pending availability. Please check in with our guest relations team the evening prior to your check out to see what is feasible.
  • Can we put more than 2 people in a room?
    Our rooms are designed to have only 1 queen or king-sized bed, suited for double occupancy only.
  • What activities can your team assist us with while we visit?
    Our front desk team is available to book tours and tastings, make reservations, share our favorite hiking routes, maps of the area, give directions, and provide a local’s perspective on what not to miss while you visit the Mendocino Coast. We can also assist with bookings of kayak tours, and horseback riding tours, and wine tasting in the Anderson Valley.
  • Does your property have an EV charger?
    We have 3 dedicated Tesla Charging stations, and can provide J1772 adaptors so they can be compatible with that style electric vehicles.
  • Can I check in early?
    Check in begins at 3:00 PM, however you are welcome to arrive earlier to explore the grounds. Our guest relations team can hold your luggage until your room is available. We recommend calling the Inn the day of check in to see if an early check-in is feasible.
  • What is the closest airport to fly into?
    Charles Schultz Airport in Santa Rosa is approximately 2 hours away from the Harbor House Inn. Additionally, Little River Airport is another option for guests arriving via chartered planes, and is located 20 minutes north of the Inn. Should you need assistance booking a chartered plane, please reach out to reservations@theharborhouseinn.com
  • Do you have a gym or pool on property?
    We do not have a gym or pool facilities on our property, however we are located within driving distance to 26 nearby hiking destinations.
  • Are there T.V.’s on site?
    We do not have T.V’s on the property. If you would like to catch a specific sports game or time-sensitive show, we recommend heading to Patternson’s Pub in Mendocino.
  • Do you provide room service?
    We offer a family-style approach to our dinner experience that can be enjoyed for $125 per person(prior to tax and 20% service charge). This 6-7 course dinner menu features local vegetables, bread, vegetable dishes from our farm, locally sourced seafood and meat, and dessert. Our guest services team can assist you with any additional beverages you’d like to enjoy with your meal. Wine pairings are not available for this type of menu selection. Please note we'll need at least 24 hours advance notice for in-room dining requests, and that it’s pending availability. In room dining can be served at either 5:45pm or 6pm, and is available Thursday - Monday evenings. Please email reservations@theharborhouseinn.com or call (707) 877-3203 if you are interested, to check on availability. We are able to honor celiac and severe shellfish allergy menu requests for our in-room dining experience.
  • Is breakfast provided at the Harbor House Inn?
    The complete Harbor House experience includes our breakfast, which is included in your room rate, for all guests who stay overnight with us. Our menus are based on seasonal produce from our garden, so menu items change frequently. Breakfast can be served to you in your room or in our ocean view dining room. Breakfast changes each day, so you can expect to have a different breakfast each morning.
  • What time of year is best to visit Mendocino County?
    Mendocino County offers diverse experiences year-round. Spring brings color to our gardens and new buds to the vineyards. Summer is filled with events surrounding the local farmer’s markets and outdoor adventures including hiking, biking, and explorations throughout the scenic area. Autumn marks harvest season in Anderson Valley, and mushroom season in the local forests. The winter holiday season is a great time to visit for unparalleled sunsets.
